Windspeed Ventures was founded in 1999 to offer a different private investment experience. The Windspeed partners have known one another and worked together for nearly a decade. Over the years, as each was involved in starting and building new businesses, planning began to create a private equity investment firm that could offer more than money to companies at early stages of formation. Windspeed Ventures was the culmination of this planning.

Windspeed Ventures helps build high technology companies in the communications, infrastructure, and business-enabling software industries. Windspeed invests in companies at the early stages through direct investments or through acquisition or management of existing portfolios.

Windspeed funds focus on early stage and later stage investments. Our early stage portfolio consists of companies that we have assisted since inception, some that have been sold, merged or are preparing for other liquidity for our investors.

Windspeed funds also provide capital for follow-on investments in corporate venture portfolios under management. A good example includes Comdisco Ventures. Windspeed is the management entity for the portfolio of equity and warrant positions developed by funds invested by Comdisco Ventures. Windspeed Ventures provides management, administration and investment funds for the Comdisco portfolio.

Over the years since inception, Windspeed Ventures has been identified by our portfolio companies and by peer institutions as a source of both appropriate, relevant operational experience and strong financial management skills.
